Blaine Pedlow has seen it all, especially here on the West Coast. Blaine grew up in San Diego before moving to Bellingham in high school (Sehome). He graduated from Cal Berkeley in 2002 and was 3-year captain of their sailing team while Cal was ranked in the top-20. He has been a program director (Encinal Yacht Club ‘02-04), college coach (Columbia '04-05, SUNY Maritime ‘07-09 & Kings Point ‘09-11), and community sailing center executive director (Community Boating Center- Bellingham ‘11-12). After returning to the Bay Area in 2012, he parlayed his experience in sailing to land a job at Stanford, and then back at Berkeley, where he worked to secure major gifts from alumni and donors. Currently, Blaine heads fundraising for an environmental nonprofit in the Bay Area and leads two larger big boat sailing programs on the West Coast. Given the choice, his best time on the water is in the 505 with Team Tuesday in San Francisco. Blaine is married to another college sailor, Kari, and they are parents to an active and adventurous 2.5-year-old son named Bennett.
